Group show

9 - 10 January 1999

A solo exhibition of new work made during an Artist Residency at Akiyoshidai International Arts Village. Included in the exhibition are three large-scale collaged maps and a two-part work in which the artist investigates the relationship between walking, mapping and making drawings.

3-Hour Walk on Akiyoshidai Plateau was a solo walk undertaken by the artist in the days preceding the exhibition. The walk is represented in the gallery as a line drawn in red felt tip pen on a black and white photocopied map of Akiyoshidai Plateau.  During the exhibition opening event, the artist will create the accompanying drawing 3-Hour Walk on Paper by repeatedly walking the length of a 25-metre sheet of paper with crushed charcoal coating the soles of her walking boots.
