Solo show

18 October – 21 December 2013

Layla Curtis’ solo exhibition at Pheonix, features her ongoing interactive online artwork Antipodes.

Antipodes pairs webcam images from places on opposite sides of the globe. As far away from each other as it is possible to be, these distant ‘twins’ have obvious day/night, and summer/winter contrasts but also surprising affinities.

Following on from her solo exhibition of Antipodes at Spacex, Exeter earlier this year, this exhibition features new work including an installation of live webcam feeds, and timelapse footage distilled from the streams of webcam images recorded on the Antipodes website.

Antipodes was launched on the spring equinox 2013 and will continue to capture live webcam images for one year. In spring 2014, the project will become an online database. www.antipodes.uk.com
